Slacklining is a balance sport which uses climbing tape stretched between two anchor points - often trees. Slacklining is distinct from tightrope walking in that the line is not held rigidly taut; it is instead dynamic, stretching and bouncing. The line's tension can be adjusted to suit the user and let them achieve a variety of feats. The line itself is flat, due to the nature of the slacklining tape, thus keeping the slackliner's footing from rolling as would be the case with an ordinary rope. The dynamic nature of the slackline allows for impressive tricks and stunts.
Slacklines are rigged using 25mm tubular tape as used by climbers. Our slackline tape has a breaking strain of 18kN and is CE and UIAA approved for climbing use.
Details of slacklining rigs, techniques and tricks can be found by searching the web for slacklining.
Nb - We are currently only selling the slackline tape and further equipment is required to rig a slackline including anchors, karabiners and a method to tension the line.
