Barrier rope: the name is pretty self explanatory. But actually, there are plenty of ropes out there which are appropriate for creating a barrier. So which one is best?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps you need some rope to create a queuing system. Or it is a safety issue? Does it need to look a certain way? We can help you choose a rope that best meets all of your requirements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHICH ROPE IS BEST FOR MAKING BARRIERS? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BARRIER ROPE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the name suggests, this rope is manufactured specifically for creating barriers. It’s a soft, textured rope that’s easy to handle. Its 3-strand construction makes it easy to splice and we can attach hooks, rope cups and other fittings with ease. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’d like us to attach the hooks onto your barrier rope<\/a> for you, customise your order by clicking ‘hook and eye fitting’ in the drop down menu for left and right end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stock this barrier rope<\/a> in 24mm so it’s relatively chunky – alongside its bold colouring, this rope creates a conspicuous boundary. We keep this product in red, royal blue and black, but other colours may also be available. Dockline<\/a> makes a rather sleek barrier rope, especially when combined with our chrome hooks<\/a>, as shown above. This rope makes a stylish barrier in situations such as queuing for concerts, museums, and other events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

POLYPROPYLENE ROPE (SPLITFILM) <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This stuff has to be one of the most versatile ropes out there. It’s very cheap (you can get a 6mm minicoil<\/a> for about \u00a33!) so it’s often used to make temporary queuing systems, rather than buying an expensive product that you’ll only use once. It’s light, easy to handle, and coils up nicely when you’re finished with it. And it’s a great investment because this product has countless uses once you’re finished using it as a barrier rope, from DIY projects to garden rope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stock this rope in 15m or 30m minicoils<\/a>, ranging from 6mm to 12mm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 STRAND POLYESTER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Predominantly a boat rope, 3 strand polyester<\/a> is a reliable product which can create a sturdy barrier. At a glance, it looks similar to our polypropylene minicoils<\/a>, but this rope is firmer and available in larger sizes (4mm to 24mm). It’s easy to handle, has low-stretch, and doesn’t lose its strength when wet, making it great to use in marine areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MULTIFILAMENT POLYPROPYLENE<\/a> <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can’t choose between our polypropylene minicoils<\/a> and 3 strand polyester<\/a>? Meet in the middle with multifilament polypropylene (MFPP)<\/a>. This rope was produced to look as similar as possible to 3 strand polyester, but it’s a much lighter, more flexible product. It can also float. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TIGER ROPE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiger rope<\/a> is a low cost, high quality product. It’s manufactured from extruded copolymer fibres, which creates a rope that size for size is almost triple the strength of natural ropes. And it’s almost 50% stronger than traditional polypropylene ropes. Despite its strength, this still remains a lightweight rope and has excellent abrasion resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes we want a barrier rope that is big and bold – and sometimes we want something a little more ‘aesthetically pleasing’, like our har<\/a>d<\/a>y hemp<\/a>. This product is made of polypropylene, making it very durable and weather-resistant, but it looks just like a natural rope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hardy hemp<\/a> is a popular choice when it comes to cordoning areas off and creating fencing in settings where you want to maintain a rustic, natural feel, such as in gardens, children’s play areas, farms and golf courses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a lightweight product which group leaders can carry with them in case they need to safeguard any exposed sections on their adventures. We’re stocking this product as a 8mm x 20m bagged rope<\/a>. This rope is not designed for use on glaciers and isn’t suitable to be used as a single rope during climbing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
