Sisal rope for scratching post.

What kind of rope do you use for a cat scratching post?

The most common replacement rope for cat scratching posts is natural sisal rope.

What is sisal rope?

Sisal rope is a natural fibre 3 strand rope and is the traditional choice for cat scratching posts. Our sisal is ideal for replacing worn rope on a wide variety of cat activity toys.

Sisal is made from plant fibres and is untreated, making it a safe choice for your pet.

How do i work out how much rope i need for my cat scratch post?

The best way is to follow our guide which can be found on our blog page... Re-roping your catch scratch post

The diameter of the rope is measured during manufacture whilst the rope is under tension so the finished product may have a larger diameter than stated. Please bear this in mind if you are planning to thread the rope through any holes in your cat scratching post.

As sisal is a natural product it isn't weather resistant so shouldn't be left outdoors for extended periods of time.

What can sisal rope be used for?

  • Cat scratching posts
  • Cat Toys
  • Cat trees and activity centres
  • Pet bird perches and swings
  • Reptile habitat enhancement
  • Ornamental purposes
  • & Many More

Please note: This listing is for sisal rope by the metre and doesn't include the scratching post!
